Information Officer

Every pharmaceutical company in Germany is required to appoint an Information Officer with the relevant authority.

Responsibilities as Information Officer / Person Responsible for Advertising

The role of the Information Officer, as defined in Section 74a of the German Medicinal Products Act (AMG), is of central importance in Germany and includes responsibility for the legal compliance of product labeling and all promotional activities related to medicinal products. In Austria, this function is regulated in Section 56 of the Austrian Medicinal Products Act, while in Switzerland, the person responsible for advertising (Werbeverantwortliche Person) ensures compliance with advertising regulations according to Article 25 of the Medicinal Product Advertising Ordinance.

Every pharmaceutical company that places finished medicinal products on the market must appoint a qualified and reliable expert to the relevant authority, who is responsible for the scientific information associated with medicinal products.

Diapharm assumes these functions for companies throughout the DACH region—thus fully covering all responsibilities of the Information Officer.
